Dust

For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:14 (NKJV)

“Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, as do stripes the inner depths of the heart.” Proverbs 20:30 (NKJV)

When we are in the midst of a trial, it is easy to fall into self- pity. We may even find ourselves angry with God. Pain has a way of changing our attitude and can cause us to forget our place. Asking Him if He knows what He is doing is silly and arrogant. Of course He knows what He is doing!

God has a plan and a purpose for your life. How He accomplishes His plan is good and just, even if you don’t understand His ways. He can do as He pleases. After all, HE is your CREATOR and you are HIS CREATION. It is faith that must carry you through your hardship.

Knowing you belong to a loving and compassionate God will enable you to discern the lies of the enemy and fight back. Satan is always looking for an opportunity to deceive you, and trials of pain are great occasions for him to plant seeds of deceit and hate. For you see, it is the Devil who is telling you that God is unfair and that He has abandoned you. You must cast these lies down quickly before you become bitter and hopelessness fills your heart.

It is perfectly fine to cry out to God and tell Him exactly how you feel.  He created you with emotions and He felt them Himself. He wants you to reach out to Him with complete honesty. Jesus is always ready to listen, even in the darkest hour of the night. He never sleeps and is our Mediator before God. Who better to intervene for us than He who endured the cross, a man of sorrows acquainted with so much grief?

Your pain is a refining process that will transform you into the image of Christ. God is working on purifying your sin areas, weaknesses, and doubts.  With time, you will see that the anger you expressed and felt towards God was sinful. God wants your honesty but deserves your humble confessions as well. There is a righteous anger to be sure. However, we are told not to sin in our anger.  Personally, I believe being angry with my Creator is sin. I am judging Him and finding Him at fault.

This trial you are experiencing is meant to mature and grow your faith. It was permitted and sent as a loving act from a faithful Savior. I say to you dear one, hold on! Your pain will not last forever. Let His power and strength carry you through the dark waters of adversity. May you find peace and rest under the protective shadow of His blessed wings.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” 1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV)

Behold, He who keeps Israel
shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalm 121:4 (NKJV)

He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. and we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;” Isaiah 53:3-4a (NKJV)
